I could not believe my ears when it was announced that I won both, the Professional Jury and the Popular award of the Prins Friso Ingenieursprijs 2021 (Prince Friso Engineering Prize).

I want to thank the organizers of such a great event, the jury members, the De Ingenieur magazine, and KIVI. 
It was also a unique opportunity to share ideas with Princes Beatrix and Princes Mabel van Oranje, about the meaning and relevance of this recognition. 
I congratulate also Abeje Y. Mersha and Rob Dijcker for sharing the finalists’ podium.
All this was possible thanks to my team at the University of Twente, collaborators, friends and my family worldwide!
