Inaugural lecture of a new Investigation Centre in Mexico
Last November 7th, 2018, I had the great privilege to open the First Congress on Nanobioengineering, as part of the inauguration of the Centro de Investigación en Biotecnología y Nanotoxicología (CIBYN), from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo Leon (UANL), Monterrey, Mexico.
A new paper on bubbles and how to control them
Our work on Gas bubble evolution on microstructured silicon substrates, is now published in Energy and Environmental Science. The result of a fruitful collaboration with colleagues from UC3M and Physics of Fluids group, has detailed the formation, growth and detachment of gas bubbles on electrodes of relevance to many gas-producing processes in industry.
Invited talk at EmTech Europe
On October 2nd, I had the privilege to give an invited talk at EmTech Europe 2018. In a panel discussion on Rewriting Life: Reengineering Our Bodies, I presented ongoing work of my group at the University of Twente, on needle-free injections. The title of my talk was: Why do we still use needles for medical treatments?
